Newspaper Records
Welcome to our records page. All of these records will be posted from the local historical newspapers. Here we hope to post early birth, marriage, death, divorce, probate notices and even citizenship. Let us know if there is a particular year you would like us to investigate and hopefully we can get to it sooner. The records for marriages are a compilation of court house records and Interlake Newpaper publishing. We felt it was better to compile all the records in one for your convenience. If you see a book and page number, it is from the marriage book. Publication date indicates the day it appeared in the newspaper. In searching dates we have included a link to a perpetual calendar for your convenience.
We have now added early records from several newspapers. All newspapers are the Inter Lake unless otherwise noted.

We are beginning to put on the Inter Lake from 1920-1929. In the interest of time we are only including those records (unless they were already there) that are not available on the paid newspaper websites. These are records we have extracted from newspapers found in the Northwest Montana Museum. This will fill in the gaps of missing pages from those years
Many of Whitefish Pilot newspapers from 1908-1923 are available online at Chronicling America, part of the Library of Congress. Also available there is the Kalispell Bee from 1900 - 1903. The Columbian- Columbia Falls' early newspaper is available through the Montana Historical Society. Years available are from 1891-1925.
